December 8-10, 2006
Friday evening - 5-9 pm
Saturday & Sunday - 9 am-5 pmThis course was designed to help photojournalists, videojournalists, and amateurs learn how to use light effectively with a minimum of gear. Participants will be working with digital cameras. After the Friday night gathering, the weekend will be spent shooting models on location with Dirck's supervision. There will be one model for every four students in the class. Each model will be positioned at a pre-determined photogenic location. The main lighting source is a reflector. Each group has 15 minutes with each model to take photographs, rotating from model station to model station, so everyone gets a chance to shoot each model. After the shoot, the class returns to the studio to look at the work. Saturday will concentrate on portraits, while Sunday concentrates on street photography, shooting and critiquing in the same fashion as the day before.
